Spa Parts Canada
Sometimes a hot tub may have some problems. With some basic knowledge, it is not that difficult to prevent issues in the first place and also to identify problem components for a swift repair.
Hot Tub Problem Prevention
Preventing problems with a spa means properly maintaining the water quality. What does the water quality have to do with maintenance?
If you let the water chemisty get out of hand, you can have a large body of water that is either extremely acidic or heavily base.
Either condition is not good for people and also not for the plumbing parts and rubber gaskets and o-rings within the heater, pumps and plumbing.
So rule number one is to become comfortable with a water maintenance program that is easy yet consistent, else you risk having to change the water more often rather than conduct a mad scientist experiment with an abundance of chemicals after the fact trying to get the water to come back to life.
In simple terms, simply keeping an eye on the PH level of the water and watching the level of sanitizer (chlorine or bromine) in the water is enough to assure healthy clean water.
The occaisional shock treatment reactivates bromine or chlorine in the water. The rest of the chemicals sold for spas are used as needed depending on extra circumstances such as having calcium carbonate precipitation (water hardness issue or PH too high), metals in the water or even algae, although that is less common as spas are programmed to regularly circulate the water.
Rinsing out the cartridge filter every couple of weeks completes the basic maintenance. With water ph balanced, enough sanitizer to kill bacteria and a clean filter, you are read to soak and relax, enjoying your ambience and relieving tired muscles from aches and pains.
- Use test strips to monitor proper PH (should be 7.2-7.6)
- Test strips also show alkalinity which should be in the ideal range
- Test strips show either chlorine, bromine or both depending on type
- Clean filter every 2 weeks with a normal garden hose and spray nozzle
If you do have a hot tub problem, you can request replacement parts under warranty from your spa reseller or hot tub manufacturer. After the warranty period, you can buy these parts at a discount online through many online spa parts vendors.
Examples of hot tub parts that are installed into many hot tubs include brands like Waterway pumps and jets, Balboa electronics and controls, Gecko electronics and controls, Laing filter pumps, Del ozonators, Air Supply blowers and much more.
Even the hot tub covers provided with your spa are made by third party cover manufacturers, and not the hot tub manufacturer, so buying a replacement hot tub cover online is also possible to replace the exact size and quality of the existing cover.
