Why should the filter be cleaned regularly?
Particles, oils and debris accumulate in the filter paper, so the only way to unclog pores and remove debris is to take the filter out of the filter housing and rinse it off with a hose.

Avoid using a pressure washer or other very strong nozzle as it can damage the cartridge filter paper and pores.
