Hot Tub Parts Canada
Hot tubs are made of a combination of electronics, plumbing parts, jets and pumps.
These parts are usually third party parts sourced by various spa manufacturers when they build your spa.
Consequently, if something should break, the part is usually not made by your spa manufacturer but the third party that supplied the part to them.
Replacement parts are easy to find for most spas if you know the actual manucturer of the part. Many times, the label is on the actual part.
For example, many spas today contain Balboa electronics. This would be indicated on the spa pack in the form of a label.
Once you know the type of component you need, make sure you order the similar replacement part.
- When replacing spa parts, it is a mistake to order "spa brand name" followed by part type as stated above, the part is not made by the spa manufacturer and furthermore, many manufacturers themselves do not know what is in their "2004 Superspa" model because they also change suppliers and component sources over time.
A confusing element of ordering spare parts for spas is making sure you get the details right. It is not enough to just order a "sandwich", we need to know what goes in the sandwich like maybe lettuce, tomato, turkey, swiss etc..
When ordering a replacement spa pump you need to specify if it is 110V or 220V, know the HP rating (which can usually be read from the pump label), whether it is a 48 frame or 56 frame pump, plumbing size (1 1/2 or 2 inch) etc.. Your hot tub parts house can be helpful in narrowing down the right part. Having access to the label on the old part is helpful.

Spa pumps keep the massage working, the water circulating and the water quality clear.
If the pump should fail, there are two main parts to the pump. The "wet end" where the water is forced through the plumbing by an impeller, and the motor that turns the shaft which spins that impeller.
- Sometimes on newer pumps, you can just replace either the Wet End or the Motor. When ordering these parts, you need to know the frame size of the pump to make sure you get a part that will fit. This is also a good time to replace the pump seal at the same time which can otherwise eventually leak due to water chemistry eating away at this seal over time. Spa electrics should be left to a professional that is familiar with working with electricity. Always shut the spa off and turn the power breaker off prior to working on any electronics or pumps.
- Main Spa Pump Failure
- Pumps can fail for a number of reasons. In a spa that uses a 2-speed pump as both the jet pump and the circulation pump, the pump is doing double duty and may exhibit problems related to improper winterization, impeller jamming, overheated motor, frozen shaft or bearings, leaks around the pump or pump seal or the loud noise caused by worn bearings.
